most sustainable leather for bags
nowadays many people prefer their bags made of sustainable leather
usually there are 2 kinds of material used for bags,handbag,wallet:
first one is genuine leather: genuine leather is soft and comfortable,however it is not animal friendly,
and it is not sustainable.
second one is faux leather:biobased leather,pu leather,pvc leather,microfiber leather and other kinds of faux leather.
so which one is the most sustainable leather for bags,wallet etc?
the answer will be 2 kinds of material
1:it is the biobased leather.
so what is biobased leather? it is the faux leather made of plant
like cactus leather,apple leather,corn leather.
our material is corn leather which is made of corn starch.

why corn leather or other biobased leather is sustainable?
because it is plant based,so it is biodegradable,after the bags is broken and it will be treated as trash,and go back to our environment.
if it is pvc leather,it will take thousands year to decompose fully. however ,if it is biobased,it will take only 20-50 years to decompose,
it is eco friendly. and it is non toxic,it will not pollute the water or the earth after decompose.
2: the second one is recycled leather
why recycled leather is sustainable?
recycled leather includes recycled PVB leather,recycled pu leather,and recycled genuine leather.
these material are made of recycled materials.
recycled pu leather : polyurethane coated on recycled polyester fabric (which is made of recycled plastic bottles)
recycled PVB leather is: recycled PVB (made of car windshield glass) coated on recycled polyester fabric.
so it can be 100% recycled from post-consumer products. it reuse the trash and protect our environment a lot.
recycled genuine leather : it is made of recycled genuine leather (from leather straps,waste leather),it can be into roll shape.
so the conslusion is: recycled leather is made of post-consumer or pre-consumer product, these product are treated as trash,
but we recycled them and give them a new life,and save the trash from the earth -our planet.
it is a sustainable way .
